The sound of the waves crashing on the shore made the bay stallion feel at home. His large hooves made prints in the sand as he walked, leaving a trail from his cave to where he was now. He had been alone for hours, thinking of the new equine that had come to live in the land. He shook his head as he walked and then sighed. He looked around as he walked, his brown eyes scanning the shore and the mainland. He could see some of the herd members were out and about, but it was only mid-morning and not many where present. The stallion turned his gaze back to the beach and saw a new figure standing there. He smiled and then walked up to her, the breeze blowing his black mane off his neck and pushing his forelock out of his orbs. "Greetings. I am Chester, the second-in-command here. Can I help you?" He asked her, his tone sweet and quite.

"I..I dont know" she stuttered noticing his beauty. "Im new here" she said in a low, calm voice. "im just here looking over the beautiful sea" she looked into his eyes hopefully him not noticing. They were extravagant and brown like chocolate swirls in your eyes. i stood there and looked at you watching the waves. " would you like to lay down?" i say laying down on the warm sand.

The stallion listened to her words, and just smiled at her. He could see her beauty in everything she did, and he had just met her. He looked out to the open sea and saw the sun shinning down on the water, making him blind for a moment, but then he blinked and everything came back into view. He turned his gaze back to the female beside him and he listened to her question and shook his head. "No, thank you. I have to remain standing. I am second-in-command you know, can't be lying down on the job." He told her with a grin. He shifted his hooves in the sand, making his prints deeper and larger than what they had been before. "I never caught your name." He told her, hoping to get a name out of her so he could tell the leader of the herd their new member's name.

"Oh...my name is ashley sorry for forgetting to introduce myself" I said the color of my face having a red tint to it. I look over the sea's one last time and then ask "Would you like to take a walk around the land?" and then i sigh looking at the marvelous ocean wondering what its like anywhere else. I take a deep breath and ask "Its beautiful isn't it?"I look over the shimmering sea and watch the dolphins play tag. I laugh "Look at those two they are in love....Ive never been in love" I say and then sigh and say"I wonder what its like". i sigh again and ask "so how bout that walk?"

The stallion heard the female's name and he nodded and began to think of an Hawaiian name he could give her. As he was thinking Ashley kept talking, and he heard her, but he didn't respond quickly for he was thinking. He blinked when he heard that she wasn't talking anymore and he turned his brown gaze to her. "Oh, I'm sorry about that. I was thinking of a Hawaiian name I could give you. How about Lehu? It means Ash in Hawaiian, and since your name is Ashley and all." He smiled as he told her, her new name that he would call her by. Yes, her birth name could be Ashley, but to him she was Lehu.
He looked out toward the ocean and saw the two sea-creatures. The stallion smile sadly and nodded to himself, and Lehu. "I have only been in love once, but it just wasn't right for either of us. Though, I still love her anyway." He told the new female, in hope that she wouldn't say anything to anyone about it. He turned his gaze away from the ocean and then said, "Sure, a nice walk would be fine. Lets go to the palm-tree border." He turned and walked out of the sand, leaving a trail of hoof-prints behind. The bay stallion chuckled and nodded. "Yes, I will show you where the border is. Though you can see it from here." He told Lehu as they walked in the short grass. He pointed with his muzzle toward the long row of palm-trees that was the border of the land. He tossed his black mane into the air, and then took off, his long legs carrying him at a canter toward the palm-trees.

She looked where he pointed and laughed "oh" she said. She noticed him flip his mane back , his hair flying in the wind and his eyes so beautiful. she started galloping with him in a fast pace. She watched him running and her eyes followed and her heart sunk. She was falling in love and she knew it.. "Im coming" she said

The sun rose a little higher into the bright, blue sky. The sun was already warming the stallion's bay coat, and it wasn't even noon. He took a deep breath and he knew it was going to be a warm day, from the already warm air he breathed in. He blinked as he cantered along, keeping his forelock and the flies out of his brown orbs. He tossed his mane again, shooing the flies away from him, as he came to the border of the land.
He stopped to a stand still, from a canter, and looked at the large palm-trees that were lined up in a row. He shook his head as he tried to think of how the palm-trees were line up so straight. He turned to the black female and wondered aloud, "I wonder how these palm-trees became like this, so straight in a row?" This sentence was more of a question toward the female, but he didn't expect her to answer it. He looked down at all of the fallen coconuts. He shook his head and remembered one of the dead foals, that was born a year before. The foal had come over to the palm-trees and had been hit in the head by a coconut and was killed, but he didn't tell this to the new female.

"whats going through your mind? You look so sad ....so devistated." She looked at his sad face and noticed his expression. Then she turned her head and looked at the row of trees lined up and wondered the same he had wondered. Then looked into the sky and saw the sun shining bright in the sky. The heat was rising and the sun was blazing over the beach. The treleaves of the trees were blowing in the wind and the tree's were swaying in the breeze. Nature was showing its beauty.

The stallion smiled at the new mare, and wondered if he should tell her of the death that had happened here. He shifted his weight on his legs and then nodded to himself before he spoke to her. "A foal was killed here a year ago. He was standing under one of these trees and a coconut fell upon his skull and cracked it. The coconut killed the foal, but after three days of him bleeding inside and a little from the open skull wound." He looked sadly over to an open spot between two trees and remembered that was the spot where the colt had spent his last, yet long, days.
